News For The Month
If you read my monthly status report from last month, you might remember me talking about a suggestion that one of my listeners sent me. He suggested that I do an interview with one of the officers of the Club Spotlight that I am doing for that episode. I loved the idea and decided after trying it on episode 26, I decided that I was going to start doing more interviews on my podcast. So far I have done four episodes in the interview format and I really like it. The one thing that I noticed though doing an interview style is that it makes my episodes about twice as long as before.
So here is my question to yall, do you like it better when I do the interview style or did you like the solo style better? Do yall like the 60-75 minute length of interview style or do yall prefer the 30ish minute length of the solo style? Should I continue doing the interview style totally, should I go back to the solo style and just do interviews for the Spotlight, which would probably make the length about 45 minutes or should I go back to just the solo episodes. Leave what yall think in the comments and let me know.
I have started to add my podcast episodes on my Youtube channel as well, so if you would prefer to watch my episodes on Youtube, check out my Youtube channel. Currently my episodes are just the audio with a picture of my logo to watch. I am thinking about doing a little more with it a little later, but not until I get a new computer(see below).
Working on a Podcast Sponsor
The first part of last month I approached Gigaparts to be my first official podcast sponsor. Since I was the first podcaster to approach them, it was decided that we would do a trial run to see what kind of ROI or Return on Investment they could get. So they offered to give me a discount code that was exclusive to yall, my loyal listeners. The coupon would be valid for a month and depending on how many people took advantage of that coupon code would decide how we would move forward in the sponsorship.
Gigaparts also sent me a G-MAG saltwater battery charger to raffle off as well. In episode 28, I told yall how to get your first entry for the GMAG. Next episode, episode 29, I will reveal how you can get your second entry. All entries must be submitted by August 5, 2016 at 11:59 pm CDT. All entries will be assigned a number in the order in which they arrived. On August 6th, I will use a random number generator and the number that is returned will correspond with the winning entry number. The winner will be announced in episode 30.
So what about the coupon code you ask? So the coupon code, EHR07, is good until August 18, 2016. Now that you know what it is, what does it do and how do you use it? It is so super easy! All you do is head over to Gigaparts.com and start shopping. Once you have $150 or more in your shopping cart or you can’t find anything else that you can’t live without, proceed to check-out. At check-out you will see a place to enter a coupon code. Put EHR07 in the box for the code and you will get $10 off your purchase!
As my mother use to say, Wham, Bam, Thank you Ma’am! That’s it, you are done! After you pay for you stuff, they will drop your items in the mail and you will receive them shortly thereafter! I must say that it has so far been great working with Gigaparts and I hope that we will have a long and mutually beneficial relationship for a long time to come!
Something else that I told yall about last episode was my plans for updating my equipment. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to buy anything off my “Podcast Wish List” on Amazon.com because this month I have to renew my domain plus a couple other annual expenses came due. So my wishlist remains the same. My priorities have changed slightly though. Last month, the first thing on the list that I wanted was the mixer and mic. This month I have been having A LOT of computer issues so a new computer or at the very least an IPad has moved to the top of my list now.
