Upcoming Events and Contests


Hello everybody and welcome back to Everything Hamradio! Last month I started a post at the end of the month, that I plan to do every month. Well, it is the end of the month so here is that post. At the end of every month I will be publishing a post of any upcoming contests or events as post by the ARRL. I I find any other event during the month that is not on the ARRL list, I will add it to this site. Here is the month of October’s events.


School Club Roundup

October 19th – 23rd from 1300 UTC to 2359 UTC

To exchange QSO information with club stations that are part of an elementary, middle, high school or college. Non-school clubs and individuals are encouraged to participate.

All amateur bands except 60, 30, 17 and 12 meters are permitted.

Repeaters are not to be used. Only recognized simplex frequencies may be used. U. S. A. examples include 144.90-145.00; 146.49, .55, 58; and 147.42, .45, .48, .51, .54 and .57 MHz. The national calling frequency, 146.52 MHz, may not be used. Similar restrictions apply in other countries.

Suggested HF Frequencies:

Phone (MHz): 1.855-1.865; 3.850-3.880; 7.225-7.255; 14.250-14.280; 21.300-21.330; 28.440-28.460

CW (MHz): 1.800-1.810; 3.530-3.540; 7.030-7.040; 14.030-14,.040; 21.130-21.140; 28.130-28.140

Log Submission Deadline:
Entries must be postmarked no later than 15 days after the end of the operating period(November 7, 2015).

Certificates: The top three entries in each category will be issued an Award Certificate.

The School Club Roundup entry categories are:
Elementary School
Middle/Junior High School
Senior High School
Non-school club or multi-op group

DX will be listed separately at the end of U. S. A. entries in each category.

If requested, a validated certificate will be issued for any station contacting 10 or more school clubs. Please include a mailing label and sufficient postage or IRCs.

You may print your own Certificate of Participation. Download the certificate PDF file http://www.arrl.org/files/file/2007NYCschoolsParticipationCert.pdf and fill in your school/club information. Or if you prefer, send an address label and four units of return postage.

Saturday, Oct 31 0000 UTC to Sunday, Nov 1 2359 UTC

Log Submission Deadline:
All entries must be emailed or postmarked no later than 2359z Thursday, January 1, 2016.

Certificates will be awarded to the top three stations worldwide in each of the following categories where significant effort or competition is evident. Multiband entrants will also be listed in the single band tables, and are eligible for those awards.
8.1 Single operator, Multi-band, All Mode
8.2 Single operator, Multi-band, CW Only
8.3 Single operator, All Mode, for each single band.
8.4 Single operator, CW, for each of the single bands 144, 432, and 1296 MHz.
8.5 Multioperator, Multi-band, All Mode
8.6 Multioperator, Multi-band, CW Only
8.7 Multioperator, All Mode, for each single band.
8.8 Multioperator, CW, for each of the single bands 144, 432, and 1296 MHz.
