Hey everybody and welcome back to Everything Ham Radio! On Friday night, I was recording my podcast episode that is coming up this Thursday with George and Jeremy from the Hamradio 360: Workbench Podcast. While we were talking off recording during one of the breaks, the topic of how my podcast was doing came up. I have to admit, that when I look at the “numbers†behind my podcast and blog, I am taken back.
For the first year of this podcast, I struggled to get it going and was slowly increasing my numbers from 345 in the January 2016 to a little over 6000 in December 2016. I would see an increase of a few hundred every month and honestly I didn’t know what I could do to help spread the word about my podcast and blog better. I tried several different things that I was able to do, but nothing really showed any promise.
Something happened in January of 2017 that really helped my podcast take off. The only thing that I can think of is that my RSS feed to each of the podcast apps was limiting the number of episodes that was being listed. So in January of 2017 I had over 12,000 downloads which is more than double of what I had the month before.
However, here is the thing, if it was just that I fixed my feed to include more episodes, then it would just be that month or maybe January and February that would be affected by it, but no, it hasn’t been. Ever since January I have had anywhere between 10,000 to 18,000 downloads. So what does that tell me?
That it is you, my awesome listeners!
Not only have yall been awesome at helping me spread the word about my podcast, but the support financially that yall have shown me the last six months or so has been awesome! I have been able to upgrade some of my equipment that I have been wanting to for a while. I only have one things left really that I am wanting to get and that is to finish out my recording area with some insulation and wall covering to help with the heat of summer and the cool of winter. That is my goal now.
I wanted to pass on some information I was recently emailed from Amazon. The email was about an event that is on July 11th all day long, but you can get a sneak peek at some of the deals as early as 7pm today, July 10th. It is called Amazon Prime Day.
What is Amazon Prime Day?
Amazon Prime Day was started in 2015 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Amazon. It is exclusively for Amazon Prime Members. Even though this even is only for Amazon Prime members, you can get a free trial membership for 30 days and have access to these deals. The deals that are being offered can be anywhere from 10% to 50% off of regular prices.
However, the deals don’t just end with physical products, there are also deals on things like:
- Save 20% on select Home Services Leading up to Prime Day
- Get 4 Months of Amazon Music Unlimited for $0.99
- Get up to 40% off Kindle Unlimited
- Get 40% off Audible Membership for six months
What Do You Get Out of This?
I know, I know, people rarely give out information without expecting something in return. While I would love to say that I am passing on this information just because I appreciate yall, that would be a lie, so won’t do that. I will say though, that if you use these links to purchase anything through Amazon, there will be nothing different from what you see. Since each of these links are affiliate links, I will get a small commission on anything you buy. Even if you sign up for Amazon Prime to take advantage of these great deals, I will get a commission.
So you have nothing to lose by using these links and you will be helping support my podcast.
Thanks in advance for any purchases you make and for your continued support. Don’t forget to tune in to the next episode of my podcast this coming Thursday where I kick it a little bit with the HR360 Workbench crew!
Until next time…
